Carrier Crisis Looming?

In response to reports that FEMA may be paying up to $4-$6 per mile and taking equipment out of the available carrier base, IARW conducted a quick survey of members to see just how serious and widespread the problem might be.

SOGGY COOKIES?  FOGGING SAFETY GLASSES?  Q&A GIVES YOU THE HOWS AND WHYS

The September edition of the Q&A Bulletin provides answers and solutions to the above issues and more!  Learn a nifty formula for ice-chilling fish; how to keep your corporate records cool, dry and mold-free; and where to locate resources specifically designed to help your company enforce the warehouse lien.  The WFLO inquiry service is a valuable benefit to IARW-WFLO members—if you're stumped, let us know.  Submit your own inquiry to email@iarw.org.

PRW DUES Offer An IRTA MEMBERSHIP OPPORTUNITY

As PRW members receive their 2006 dues invoices, they will have an opportunity to join the International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA) for the low cost of $200 per company.  IRTA recently joined the IARW family with the goal of building its membership and programs.  With membership in IRTA, your company will be able to submit a listing of your transportation capabilities for the IRTA section of the 2006 International Cold Chain Directory.  To learn more, visit the IRTA website.

LOOK FOR THE IACSC LOGO

When choosing a contractor for cold storage construction or related suppliers and services, make sure you deal with an IACSC member.  The IACSC directory of members will soon be part of the 2006 International Cold Chain Directory.  Visit the IACSC website for more information.  Learn more about refrigerated construction by attending the upcoming IACSC Annual Conference and Expo to be held November 3-6 at The Atlantis, Bahamas.

Study Shows Damaged Packaging Directly Impacts Brand Loyalty

Careful handling of food packages is probably more essential than ever before. Results of a recent survey show that seventy-two percent of those surveyed view the retailer with damaged frozen food packaging as offering lower value products than competitors, while 25% go so far as to question the quality of the brand. PRW operators who pay attention to careful handling practices are more likely to please their customers because the customer's product is less likely to be viewed as inferior by consumers.  Click here for the full story
