A technical advisor to WFLO, working with WFLO
technical staff and with the support of WFLO personnel in
Washington, DC, traveled to Moldova in November 2004 to: 1) Analyze
a recently created database of cold storage warehouses in Moldova;
2) conduct a series of warehouse and cold storage site visits to a
cross section of facilities pre-selected by CNFA, and 3) recommend
sector specific programs and activities that would facilitate the
development of an integrated cold chain or improve existing cold
chain principles within the fruits & vegetable sector of Moldova.
Interviews and site visits were conducted throughout the country of
Moldova with a cross-section of individuals and companies involved
in the warehouse and cold storage industry. Approximately ten days
were spent gathering relevant data, collecting photo documentation
of facilities, and developing potential strategic directions for
future activities.
