The packinghouse team was charged with the task of
designing and preparing complete financial models for two
alternative vegetable packinghouses in Moldova. One would be based
upon an existing facility, and one would be constructed on a
“Greenfield“ basis. The team spent the initial part of the trip
traveling in Moldova and interviewing growers, packers, and shippers
of vegetables, as well as several design and construction
engineering firms. They also visited with leaders from groups of
cooperatives, trade associations, and appropriate government
agencies. The packinghouse designs and financial models were then
executed based upon the information gathered from these interviews.
