Amelia Island Plantation is Florida's premier AAA-Four Diamond destination island resort in perfect harmony with nature. Located on Amelia Island, Florida, just 29 miles north of Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), the 1350 acre property overlooks the blue water of the Atlantic on the east and the green marshland and Intracoastal Waterway on the west.    

To make reservations, please call +1 888 261 6165 and mention the group IARW Southeastern Chapter Meeting or group reference number 8AV3VF.   The group rate is $159 per night plus an $8.00 per person per night resort fee.  Current rate is 7% state tax and 2% occupancy tax = total of 9% Cut off date is August 30, 2007.  Guests may check in after 4:00 pm and check out by 11:00 am.

Location/Transportation

Amelia Island Plantation is on Amelia Island in northeast Florida, just across the St. Marys River from Georgia and adjacent to the historic city of Fernandina.  It is just a short 45 minute drive from downtown Jacksonville, and 29 miles from Jacksonville International Airport.  Click here for driving directions. 

Shuttle Service from airport can be arranged and is approximately $84.  To make arrangements please visit the Amelia Island Transportation Department website.

Attire

At the business meetings, business casual attired is suggested.  If you are playing golf, you may want to wear your golf clothes to the meeting.  No coats and ties are required for evening events. In September, temperatures typically reach a high of 87°F (31°C) during the day and a low of 69°F (21°C) in the evening.

Golf

Friday, September 21, 2007, tee times begin at 2:18 pm.  We have arranged for five tee times on the Ocean Links for $105 per person which includes a cart and greens fees.  Callaway Golf club rentals are available for a fee of $60.00.

Golf Tournament

The golf tournament will be held at the Oak Marsh Links.  The fee for golf is $145 per person.  Shuttle transportation, box lunch, golf cart, and greens fees will be included.  Callaway Golf club rentals are available for a fee of $60.00.

The Spa at Amelia Island Plantation

Where to Eat

For a casual dining experience, guests can dine outside under the covered porch at Marché Burette, all the while enjoying the Florida sunshine. After a pleasant lunch or dinner, head over to Cooper's Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts for a delectable treat, sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. 

If you are headed toward the beach, stop poolside for a quick bite at the Beach Club Grill. If the golf course is your destination, be sure to check out the Golf Shop Restaurant.  Or if seafood is your choice, enjoy the charmingly casual Verandah Restaurant, with today's fresh seafood.

Sip on a frozen tropical drink, your favorite adult beverage or an ice-cold soda at this outdoor ocean-front bar called the Dunes Club Sand Bar.
