Washington becomes a different city at night, so please join
us for dinner and a Monuments by Moonlight Tour. The first
stop will be Lafayette Square and the White House for a group
photo shoot and then on to the Old Ebbitt Grill for a reception
and dinner. The historic Grill, with its Beaux Arts facade
was founded in 1956 and has been a favorite of many presidents,
politicians, and celebrities. After dinner we will go on a
tour to see the fantastic panorama of the city at night—the most
popular monuments, the Capitol, museums on The Mall, the Potomac
River, and more. The bus will leave from the Four Seasons
at 5:45 pm and return around 11:00. Pre-registration is required with a
charge of $110.
Washington
Insiders Luncheon
Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS), a visionary in the area of
international trade development and education, has been invited
to keynote the annual Washington Insiders Luncheon. To help
foster trade with developing nations in areas of food and
agriculture, Cochran created “The Cochran Program,” which
provides short-term (three to six weeks) U.S.-based training for
food industry professionals from developing nations in
agricultural business practices, economic policies, food
retailing, and other areas. Each year, The Cochran Program
educates hundreds of professionals from more than 60 nations. It
is supported by grants from Congress, the U.S. Agency for
International Development, and the U.S. Department of
Agriculture.
Food Industry and Government Reception
This annual reception on Monday evening, July 31,
draws members of Congress, leaders from the major national and
international food industry associations, and important
officials from federal regulatory agencies. US members are
encouraged to invite their members of Congress and congressional
staff aides or agency personnel (USDA, EPA, etc.) you work with
or want to get to know. A sample
invitation letter makes this an easy task to complete.
