Job Description:

SnoTemp Cold Storage is seeking a motivated individual to lead our Albany, OR facility as Plant Manager. With locations in Eugene and Albany, we operate over 12,000,000 cubic feet of temperature controlled warehouse space. For over 50 years SnoTemp has been providing superior warehousing services to local and regional food processors. Our commitment to customers enabled us to add 100,000 sq ft (2,400,000 cu. ft) in 2010. As a family owned and operated company, a candidate can expect a flexible working environment, superior benefits, a willingness to entertain creative solutions and full support from senior management. 

Successful candidates will possess the following skills and characteristics:

• Strong leadership skills.
• Experience in cold storage warehousing; via logistics, 3PL, private warehouse, or other.
• Commitment to excellent customer service.
• Commitment to safety: people and product.
• Solid understanding of physical facilities; including refrigeration system, buildings, and handling equipment.
• Strong computer skills.
• Solid understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (Accellos preferred) or similar program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

This position will be responsible for the overall success of our 375,000 sq ft (9,000,000 cubic feet) facility. Furthermore, the Plant Manager will be responsible for inspiring our team of 20 employees to provide the industry's best customer service.   A successful candidate will work closely with Senior Management to achieve company goals.  This position reports to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that customers receive prompt and courteous service from office and warehouse staff.
• Ensure the development of systems and procedures for efficiently operating the business.
• Develop and maintain a productive work team by creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development of staff. Match skills and background of staff to work required.
• Embrace and promote a culture of safety.  Develop and oversee programs that satisfy government compliance programs. 
• Oversee and direct all food safety programs.
• Participate in business development.  Assists in rate development.
• Match capabilities of WMS with customer requirements to optimize warehouse operations.
• Monitor facility and equipment to ensure proper functioning.  Work closely with Maintenance staff in developing and executing preventative maintenance programs. 
• Develop programs that reduce our environmental impact; provide a positive impact in community; while increasing employee engagement.
• Participate in budget process and measuring key performance indicators.

Skills and experience in the following areas will contribute to a successful candidate:

• Quality assurance experience in food industry.
• Experience in process efficiency and lean manufacturing (ie. Six Sigma, Kaizan).
• Experience with Profit and Loss Statements. Experienced in setting P & L goals and attaining them.
