GCCA Announces Service Partnership with Cascade Energy

Newest GCCA Service Partner will help members with energy management

WASHINGTON, DC, April 20, 2011 –The Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) has signed a service partnership agreement with Cascade Energy, Inc.

Energy usage is among the highest costs a refrigerated warehouse facility can incur annually, averaging 12 percent of total operating expense. Energy usage is also the top unmanaged cost in the refrigerated warehouse industry. An effective energy management program can dramatically reduce these costs.

Since 1993, Cascade has provided energy efficiency consulting services to the cold chain industry. Cascade’s services include; energy-management program development; energy project implementation assistance; demand-side program planning and implementation; and energy incentive program consultation. Cascade also offers energy studies that provide investment-grade information and facility tune-ups - an intensive multiday review of a system or facility with the goal of cutting energy use by 5 percent to 15 percent with minimal investment.

The program is geared towards the needs of refrigerated warehousing and logistics companies in GCCA membership. This includes members of GCCA Core Partners the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) and the International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA).

Through this new partnership, Cascade’s team of experts will be available to answer members’ questions about energy use, author reports and articles, contribute to educational programming, speak at GCCA events, and provide a new technical manual on refrigeration best practices. Cascade can also assist in developing and managing corporate energy management programs geared specifically to refrigerated warehouses.
